The past 10 years has seen an explosion in the popularity of kayak fishing. Kayak fishing tournaments have been becoming more and more popular across the nation, with some events seeing hundreds of anglers. People are drawn to the low cost of and simplicity of kayak fishing.
Bassmasters is entering the Kayak Fishing world with the creation of the B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series. In 2020 this will feature 5 Open events across the country allowing anglers the opportunity to qualify for the BASS Nation Kayak Series Championship held in conjunction with the 51st Bassmasters Classic in the spring of 2021. Anglers competing in a State B.A.S.S. Nation will also be have the opportunity to qualify for that event via the State B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak State Championship.
NY Kayak Bassmasters has been created to give New York’s Kayak anglers the opportunity to fish a State Championship and potentially qualify for the Series Championship. NY Kayak Bassmasters is a B.A.S.S. Nation and NY B.A.S.S. Nation affiliated club. In 2020 we will be hosting just one event, the NY B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak State Championship. In 2021 we plan on hosting events in conjunction with the NY B.A.S.S. Nation points events, Open Events, and other qualifying events.
