NY B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series
Bassmasters has entered the kayak fishing world with the creation of the B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series. This features 5 Open events across the country allowing anglers the opportunity to qualify for the BASS Nation Kayak Series Championship along with cash prizes and an Angler of the Year award. The Kayak Series Championship event is held in conjunction with the Bassmasters Classic at a neighboring lake with the awards being presented on stage prior to the Day-1 weigh in.
Being a part of B.A.S.S. Nation, the kayak series is also taking advantage of the broad network of clubs and state organizations. Any state holding a kayak series state championship event will qualify the top 10% anglers at the event to the Kayak Series Championship.
NY Kayak Bassmasters (NYKBM) has been created as a Kayak club within NY B.A.S.S. Nation to give anglers the opportunity to fish a State Championship and potentially qualify for the Kayak Series Championship. NYKBM offers both online “Virtual” events and live one day events throughout the season leading up to the State Championship which is held in the early fall on one of NY’s premier bass fishing lakes.
